A neighbourhood with a sense of community

The Märkisches Viertel is a large housing estate in Berlin's Reinickendorf district, built in the 1960s and 1970s in what was then West Berlin. Most of the flats are managed by GESOBAU AG. Despite its image as a “satellite town”, a diverse community has developed here, with many clubs and initiatives offering sport, entertainment, advice and support.

Website and app for local initiatives

Involving the local FACE family centre, GESOBAU worked with us to develop a website and an app that allow local initiatives to keep their offerings up to date online at all times. This means local residents can find cultural, sports and support services and initial information about local initiatives at any time.

Organisations manage their events themselves

The information is fed into the app via an interface. All participating organisations have online access on the website, through which they maintain their own data and dates independently. This makes a lively neighbourhood tangible and accessible for everyone.
